Fence de-rusting

So our entire neighborhood's irrigation water rusts just about everything it touches (and smells like rotten eggs), so when we bought our house our white vinyl fence had large rust streaks all over. So to get rid of streaks I found a great Rust Stain Remover from Goof Off at Home Depot. I used a sponge to rub the chemical on the fence, then a paint roller with sealant to keep the rust from restaining the fence.

**The stain remover/sealant combo did work pretty well, but some of the rust has come back on the sealant, but not in the large streaking pattern as before. I asked the folks at Home Depot and it sounds like to fully get rid of it I would have to either replace the filtration system or get it regularly maintained, both of which are very expensive. Instead I'm going to keep trying different ways of using the rust remover and sealant to keep the rust at bay. I'll post later if I find the perfect combo.
